Reception at the British Embassy in Panama

On February 29th 2012, King’s College signed an agreement with the Ministry of Education that will see King’s College training Panamanian teachers and the development of the educational sector in the rapidly growing country. The agreement was signed by Mrs Lucy Molinar, the Minister of Education, and Dr Roger Fry CBE, founder and Chairman of King’s Group. Several other ministers from the Panamanian Government were in attendance along with the Canadian Ambassador in Panama, Sylvia Cesaratto, Mr Yogeshwar Varma the Indian Ambassador and D. Jesús Silva Fernández the Spanish Ambassador.

Speeches were made introducing the project by His Excellency Michael John Holloway OBE, HM Ambassador to Panama, Dr Fry and Mrs Molinar.

Elena Benito, General Manager of King’s Group said “This agreement represents a ground breaking project and I am very impressed with the overwhelming support both the new school and the teacher training project are receiving from Panamanian families and families that have come to live and work here from other parts of the world.”

Vanessa Whay, the recently appointed Headteacher of King’s College, the British School of Panama said “It is so exciting to be part of this amazing project. I cannot wait to move into the school and welcome all the new children and their families”.
